Team USA fifth at Chiba Ekiden
Team USA ran to a fifth place finish Wednesday at the 2011 International Chiba Ekiden, which is an annual relay competition featuring a total of nine nations. 

Team USA finished with an overall time of 2:09:06 to finish behind first place Kenya (2:04:40). Japan was second, Japan University third and Russia fourth.

The race features mixed teams of men and women running six alternating legs totaling 42.195 km as follows: 1st leg, Men 5 km; 2nd leg, Women 5 km; 3rd leg, Men 10 km; 4th leg, Women 5 km; 5th leg, Men 10 km; 6th leg, Women 7.195 km. Team USA finished fifth in the event last year.

First leg: Robert Cheseret, 13:58, 3rd place
Second leg: Alisha Williams, 16:15, 10th place
Third leg: Christopher Landry, 30:00, 7th place
Fourth leg: Emily Brown, 16:25, 6th place
